Volunteachers Programme

Our Volunteachers Programme connects experienced and passionate volunteer teachers with classrooms around the globe.

Addressing Global Inequality

The shortage of teachers globally poses a significant barrier to providing quality education to all. Many regions face challenges in recruiting and retaining qualified educators, leading to overcrowded classrooms and diminished learning opportunities.

Volunteers play a crucial role in addressing this gap by offering their time, skills and expertise to support educational initiatives in underserved communities. At EqualEd, we’re building a global community of Volunteachers to do just that.

Powered by Volunteers

We work with passionate educators and subject matter experts who generously give up their time and expertise to our learning communities.

Although the majority of our volunteers are qualified teachers, some are subject experts interested in the power of education. All of our Volunteachers go through the same onboarding and training process, equipping them with the skills and systems to exchange their knowledge with learners around the world.

Technology for Good

EqualEd was founded to harness advancements in online learning brought on by the pandemic. We now use Google technology to link Volunteachers with students in low-resource and remote settings all over the world.

On the ground, it’s fairly simple. All that our schools require are a laptop, projector, speakers and microphone — we often supply this if needed. Many partner schools have an ‘EqualEd Classroom’ that remains set up for lessons throughout the day.

Spotlight: Pakistan

Inadequate infrastructure, low literacy rates, socio-economic disparities and geographical remoteness make accessing quality education difficult in Tharpakar, Pakistan.

In 2023, EqualEd began working closely with schools in the region to deliver lessons in English and science, led by highly experienced teachers.
